North Carolina Tar Heels vs Clemson Tigers ACC Basketball Odds, Free Pick

College basketball Saturday and we will see the North Carolina Tar Heels take on the Clemson Tigers at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina. The game has a start time of 8:15 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas betting odds have North Carolina listed as 7.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 130.

Analysis:  The North Carolina Tar Heels come in having won their last 4 games to put their record at 10-3 on the year, which is good enough to have them ranked 20th in the nation. The Heels are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games following a ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU win of more than 20 points, but just 0-5 ATS in their last 5 vs. the ACC. North Carolina has been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 17th in scoring (81.3 ppg), 80th in shooting (46.0%), 287th in 3 point shooting (30.4%) and 114th in FT shooting (69.7%). Defensively the Heels have been solid as they come in ranked 156th in points allowed (65.0 ppg), 9th in defensive FG% (35.3%) and 3rd in 3 point defense (25.1%).

The Clemson Tigers have won two games in a row to put their season record at 8-4 overall, including a 6-2 mark at home. The Tigers are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games, but just 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games following a S.U. win and 0-5-1 ATS the last 6 in this series. Clemson has been a poor offensive squad this year, ranking 213th in scoring (66.5 ppg), 174th in shooting (43.7%), 321st in 3 point shooting (28.6%) and 235th in FT shooting (66.5%). The defense for this team has been solid, ranking 89th in points allowed (61.7 ppg), 65th in defensive FG% (39.2%) and 88th in 3 point defense (30.8%).

Pick: Surprise! I will look at the Over in this game. The Tigers are not a good offensive team, but still they have scored 66.5 ppg on the year, including 70 ppg at home. The Heels have been solid on offense all year, averaging 81.3 ppg overall, including 74.5 ppg on the road and I feel they will be able to crack a solid Clemson defense in this one. The Carolina defense has allowed 65 ppg overall and 70 ppg on the road. I can see both teams hitting the 65 point mark in this one.
