NLCS Game 2 Los Angeles Dodgers vs St Louis Cardinals

Game 2 of the NLCS takes place today as the Los Angeles Dodgers to take on the St Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for an 4:07 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised on TBS.

Current Odds

Los Angeles   -143
St Louis         +133

Over/ Under: 6 -110

Analysis: The Dodgers are in an 0-1 hole after last nights 3-2 loss in 13 innings. The Dodgers have their pitching rotation lined up perfectly for the NLCS and will be banking on ace Clayton Kershaw to come up big and even the series today. Kershaw led the NL with 232 strikeouts, a sparking 1.83 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP, but he is 4-5 with a 3.75 ERA in 12 career starts against the Cardinals. It was the fourth consecutive season that Kershaw tallied 200 or more strikeouts. He also allowed a .195 batting average -- .202 to right-handed hitters and .165 to left-handed hitters. Juan Uribe has a five-game postseason hitting streak and six RBIs in his last three contests.

St Louis will turn to Michael Wacha to give them a 2-0 series lead. Wacha is coming off perhaps the best back-to-back starts turned in by any pitcher in recent memory, allowing just 1 hit in each of his last two outings and he was dominant in a season-saving elimination game against Pittsburgh in the NL Division Series. He did not allow a run in three of five September starts, including a no-hit bid against Washington that was thwarted by an infield single with two out in the ninth. Carlos Beltran drove in all three runs, including an RBI single in the 13th inning, to lift the Cardinals in the series opener, giving him 9 RBIs this postseason and 34 in 40 career playoff games.  Pete Kozma is 4-for-5 with three doubles and three RBIs against Kershaw.

Pick: I like the Under in one. St Louis has problems with lefties and Kershaw is one of the best, while Michael Wacha has been virtually unhittable for the Cards of late, allowing just 2 hits and 1 run in his last 2 starts. Runs were at a premium last night and will be again tonight
