NHL Playoff Odds Chicago Blackhawks vs Los Angeles Kings

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Los Angeles Kings: NHL Playoff Preview and Prediction

The Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings meet up tonight in Game 2 of the NHL Playoffs Western Conference Finals. Tonight's game is scheduled for an 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the odds for the game have Los Angeles favored at home.

Los Angeles has stunned the Chicago Blackhawks, winning two straight games and taking control of the series lead. The Kings were able to steal a game in Chicago back in Game 2 and were able to hang onto their advantage with a grueling 4-3 victory in Game 3. Can the Kings hold on once again and find a way to pick up a victory and really put the pressure on Chicago?

The Kings have been through a lot of adversity in this playoffs already, having come from an 0-3 deficit in the opening round against the San Jose Sharks in addition to having to win Game 6 and Game 7 against the top-seeded Anaheim Ducks in the second round. This team, who has a lot of veteran players that have won a Stanley Cup before, hasn't panicked this post season even when things ultimately looked like they were going against them. Now tonight they'll have an opportunity to put an immense amount of pressure against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Chicago, which won the Stanley Cup championship last season, probably won't panic in this situation tonight. They need to get a win in order to avoid elimination games the rest of the series, and Corey Crawford is going to have to help them in between the pipes. Crawford made 28 stops in a Game 3 loss, but it wasn't enough to get the victory on visiting ice.

Jonathan Quick and the Kings are the best defensive team in the league, allowing just 2.0 goals to their opponents in games this season. Quick allowed Jonathan Toews to score twice last game, once a shorthanded tally. Toews has been playing very well for the Blackhawks and we expect that to continue the rest of the series.

Los Angeles' Jeff Carter has been impressive this series as well. Carter poured in a hat trick in Game 2 and has four assists in this series, scoring a point in every game. The battle between Carter and Toews could determine tonight's outcome.

But with a team as good as Chicago is needing a win, even on the road, we like their chances tonight. Both of these veteran teams have a lot of experience and Chicago needs a win badly, because going down 3-1 could put immense pressure on them the rest of the series. We like them to pull an upset tonight.
