The reeling Bengals will look to stop their free fall this afternoon when they welcome the defending Super Bowl champion Giants to Paul Brown Stadium. Start time in today’s inter-conference meeting between the Giants and Bengals is scheduled for 1:00pm ET on FOX. Cincinnati is drawing +165 moneyline odds ($100 wins $165) to hand the Giants their first back to back losses of the season.

The Giants saw their four game win streak come to an end last weekend as the Pittsburgh Steelers knocked them off 24-20 at MetLife Stadium. While New York was favored in the game, its defeat was not all that shocking considering their occasional lapses at home.

A loss today would come as a surprise, though, given Cincinnati’s slide into the football abyss. The Bengals started the season with a 3-1 record after recording wins over the Browns, Redskins, and Jaguars, but they have not tasted victory since, losing four straight to the Dolphins, Browns, Steelers, and Broncos.

Cincinnati played reasonably well in most of those games, avoiding blowout losses, but it failed to finish within seven points of its opponent in each setback with the exception of Miami (17-13).

Those numbers hardly inspire confidence in the Bengals chances this afternoon, especially against a Giants team that typically thrives on the road. New York is 3-1 away from home this season and all three of those wins came by five or more points.

Home dogs usually tend to die hard, but it would appear Cincinnati is getting used to losing, regardless of its role.
