The Buffalo Bills will look to snap out of the funk today when square off against the surprising 4-1 Arizona Cardinals (4:05pm ET start time, CBS). The latest NFL Predictions and Odds are not anticipating a Bills recovery though, as they come into this inter-conference contest a +4 against the spread road dog. Today’s game total is set at 44 points and the Cardinals are a -200 moneyline pick ($200 wins $100) to win their fifth game of the season.
Buffalo opened the season with an ugly 48-28 loss to the Jets, but it bounced back from that loss with wins over the Chiefs and Browns. Nevertheless, sustained success has eluded the Bills as they come into today’s game off two of the worst losses one will ever witness.
Buffalo blew a 21-7 lead two weeks ago in falling 52-28 at home to the Patriots and last Sunday the Niners dropped a 45-3 bomb on the Bills, one which saw Chan Gailey’s squad yield over 300 yards rushing and passing.
Today will not be easy either, but the Bills can take comfort in knowing Arizona’s offensive firepower is significantly lacking. The Cardinals rank 31st in yards per game with a 273.2 average and their 18.8 points per game average is in the bottom third as well.
Given those numbers, Buffalo’s defense should rediscover the form it took in beating Kansas City and Cleveland. The trouble for the Bills this afternoon will be finding scoring opportunities against Arizona’s stingy defense.
The Cardinals make up for their lack of offense with a defense that ranks fifth in points per game allowed, fourth in sacks, and seventh in forced fumbles.
Buffalo Bills vs Arizona Cardinals NFL Predictions:
Buffalo Bills +4 (-110), Over 44 (-110), +170 (Moneyline)
Arizona Cardinals -4 (-110), Under 44 (-110), -200 (Moneyline)
