NFL Point Spreads Oakland Raiders vs New York Giants

A rested and rejuvenated New York Giants squad will seek its third straight win this weekend when it welcomes the Oakland Raiders to MetLife Stadium. Sunday's meeting between the G-Men and the Raiders is scheduled to kickoff at 1:00pm ET on CBS. NFL Point Spreads from offshore bookmaker 5Dimes have New York listed as a -7.5 against the spread and -340 money line favorite ($340 wins $100). The Over/Under in this inter-conference contest is presently set at 43.5 points.

New York could not have imagined a worse start to its season, losing its first six games in almost every conceivable fashion, but it entered its Week 9 bye on a high. The Giants snapped their openings skid with a 23-7 thrashing of the Vikings and they followed that up with a pre-bye 15-7 road win over the Eagles to improve to 2-6 overall.

The odds makers expect Eli Manning and company to keep things rolling this weekend with the Silver and Black on tap.

There are certainly some sound reasons to back the Giants in Sunday's game as the 3-5 Raiders are coming off an ugly 20-49 home loss to Philadelphia.

Oakland had a huge offensive day from a yardage standpoint, racking up 560 in almost 38 minutes of possession time, but its defense, as the Eagles point total would indicate, was horrific.

Philadelphia managed 542 total yards in just over 22 minutes of possession and it averaged an eye popping 13.4 yards per pass as well as 5.3 yards per carry. Eagles quarterback Nick Foles also achieved a perfect passer rating, completing 2-of-28 passes for 406 yards and a record tying seven touchdown passes.

Manning and his offensive cohorts were probably drooling as the game film of the Eagles/Raiders game while Giants suddenly stout defense envisioned another big afternoon against a banged up offensive unit.

Several key Raiders are listed as questionable for Sunday's game, including Terrelle Pryor, Darren McFadden, Tony Pashos, and Andre Gurode. Even if all of those players are able to give it a go, they may find it difficult to move the ball on a New York defense that has allowed just 14 points, 18 first downs, and 406 total yards in its last two games.

Notable Trends: The Giants are 4-1 both straight up and against the spread in their last five games as a home favorite. The Raiders are 0-7 straight up and 1-6 against the spread since 2006 when playing as an away dog in the Eastern time zone when coming off a home loss (average margin of loss = 22.6 points per game).

NFL Point Spreads Oakland Raiders vs New York Giants:

Oakland Raiders +7.5 (-110), Over 43.5 (-110), +280 (Moneyline)

New York Giants -7.5 (-110), Under 43.5 (-110), -340 (Moneyline)
