NFL Playoffs Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers Start Time, NFL Odds, Free Pick

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting the Miami Dolphins in NFL Playoff action on Sunday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. The NFL Odds for the game have the Steelers favored by 10 points to pick up the victory.

NFL Odds
Pittsburgh -10
Total: 45.5 points

Pittsburgh is the highest favorite on the board this weekend, laying 10 points against the Dolphins. The Steelers are a veteran group that played tough in the post season last year, beating the Bengals and nearly knocking off the Broncos in the divisional round. Miami hasn’t been in the playoffs since 2008, when they lost to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round.

This year, Pittsburgh definitely has the advantage. Ben Roethlisberger is healthy and the Steelers have won seven straight coming into the post season, playing in several close games. The Steelers have two of the best offensive weapons in the NFL with Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown, both should get a ton of touches in this one against a Miami defense that ranks 28th in the league.

The Steelers have made the post season 11 of the last 16 seasons and have been a model of consistency under Mike Tomlin. They also have a revenge angle here from an earlier season loss, a 30-15 defeat. Miami dominated that game, out-gaining the Steelers 474-297, clobbering them in first downs 24-15 and really controlling the time of possession, wracking up better than 36 minutes of time with the football.

Roethlisberger threw two picks in that contest, Bell and Brown had mediocre games at best and Jay Ajayi on the other side controlled the game with 204 yards and two scores on the ground.

The Dolphins started 1-4 prior to that game but went on to finish with a 9-2 record the last 11 games. QB Ryan Tannehill was a big portion of that win streak, but he became injured late in the season and Matt Moore had to take over the signal-calling duties, though head coach Adam Gase believes he can get the job done here.

The Steelers are plus-78 in point differential this season, the third best mark in the AFC behind Kansas City and New England. Only Dallas and Atlanta have a better number in the NFC, giving the Steelers an excellent opportunity here to play well and advance.

Pittsburgh has two losses at home this season, once against the Cowboys in a high-scoring crazy finish and the other coming against the Patriots when Roethlisberger was unable to play.
