NFL Playoffs Houston Texans at New England Patriots Start Time

2012-12-11T035606Z_103324702_GM1E8CB0X3N01_RTRMADP_3_NFL.JPG

The Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs continues on Sunday as the Houston Texans visit the New England Patriots. The Start time for this game is at 4:30 PM (Eastern) and will be televised live on CBS.

The New England Patriots are 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three games against the Houston Texans and will try to make it four straight wins over the Texans this Sunday when they host Houston at Gillette Stadium.

New England defeated Houston 42-14 at home on Monday night football in Week 14. But these Patriots have been losers in the playoffs, especially for bettors who have limped to a 1-6 ATS mark in their playoff games since 2008.

Houston was able to beat Cincinnati thanks to a big game from Arian Foster and its defensive line. Neither showed up in its regular-season tilt against the Patriots last month. Despite their playoff win against the Bengals in the Wild Card Round, these Texans still look like the same shaky outfit that lost three of their last four regular-season games.

New England, once again, appears poised to make its sixth AFC title-game appearance in the last 10 seasons, a stunning (but not really) streak of excellence. Tom Brady threw four touchdown passes in that Week 14 game, and that was without tight end Rob Gronkowski. After recovering from a broken arm, Gronk is expected to be available for this game.

Offensively, the game matches up New England's No. 1-ranked offense (34.8 PPG) against a Texans defense that ranks No. 9 at 20.7 PPG. The Patriots passing attack has averaged 291.4 yards per game, more than the Texans give up through the air (225.8 YPG on average).

In comparing defenses, the Texans own the league's No. 5-rated front 7 in terms of stopping the run, allowing 89.2 yards per game when on the road. New England, on the other hand, rates No. 8 this week in generating rushing yards at home.
