The Green Bay Packers are hosting the New York Giants today in NFL Playoff action. The game is scheduled for a 4:40 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. The NFL Odds for the game have the Packers favored to pick up the victory.
Green Bay -5.5
Total: 45 points
Once again, the Giants and Packers will meet in the playoffs on a cold Wisconsin afternoon. This time the temperature is expected to be in the middle teens, which may have some ramification on the passing game of both teams.
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are red hot, winners of six straight. They won six of eight in Green Bay this season and certainly feel comfortable on their own field. The Packers have already beaten the Giants on this field earlier in the year, a game where Rodgers threw for a couple of touchdowns and a pair of interceptions as well.
Eli Manning and the Giants won nine of their last 11 games, they are very strong on the road in the playoffs. Manning has led the G Men to seven wins in eight career post season road games, plus they've covered the number in all eight of those matchups. Two of those wins came in 2007 and 2011 at Lambeau Field.
The Giant defense will be the reason they win this game. They have excellent guys in the secondary, led by Janoris Jenkins and Landon Collins. They are going to have to play well to cover all of those receivers Green Bay puts on the field, but the strength of the Giants defense can keep them in this game.
