The second week of the NFL season kicks off Thursday night when the Buffalo Bills host the New York Jets. The game is scheduled for an 8:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. The NFL Odds for the game have the Jets favored to pick up the victory on the road.

Both the Jets and Bills lost their opening-week games on Sunday, both came to AFC clubs as well in close contests that either could have won.

The Bills have to get it figured out real quick, too. Buffalo’s next two games see them take on Arizona and New England, bringing 0-4 to start the season into a possibility. The Jets have an even tougher stretch coming up with games against Kansas City, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Arizona and Baltimore the next month, which could see them start the campaign at 0-6. Imagine that.

New York has to get better in pass defense, A.J. Green lit them up on Sunday and now Sammy Watkins is on deck. Watkins is battling a sore foot, but head coach Rex Ryan said the team expects him to be on the field. That could be in question and it’s possible Watkins could be a game-time decision or miss some time.

Buffalo’s defense played strong in the loss to Baltimore, giving up just over 300 yards of total offense. The Jets defense is supposed to be good as well, but didn’t shot anywhere close to it last week as Cincinnati piled up better than 420 yards of total offense.

The Jets could be in for a tough season.
