NFL Football Oakland Raiders at New England Patriots Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Patriots vs. Bills: Score, Analysis as New England Avoids Buffalo Upset

The New England Patriots welcome in the Oakland Raiders in NFL football action on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Patriots favored by more than two touchdowns in this one.

This game features the biggest spread of the week as the Patriots are laying two touchdowns against the Raiders. This is your typical game where an East Coast team welcomes in a West Coast team for that 1 p.m. start time. Oakland is just awful and with this game and Miami on deck next week, the Raiders could be looking at 0-4 heading into the bye.

New England hasn't been a great running team through two games, but they'll certainly want to hand the ball off quite a bit in this one. Oakland is the worst team in the league at stopping the run, giving up an average of 200 yards per game to opponents on the ground.

Oakland themselves haven't been able to run the football, either. The Raiders have just 126 yards on the ground in two games themselves, which is second worst in the NFL.

Tom Brady and the Patriots will look to take care of business early. The Raiders have allowed both Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick to complete better than 70% of each of their passes in the opening two games. Smith was 23 of 28 (82%) while Fitzpatrick completed 14 of 19 passes (74%). Brady is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game, if those two had such big games against the Raiders, what can we expect from Touchdown Tom?

New England has been pretty poor at covering the number when they're a double digit favorite, going 5-14 ATS, but this game is one New England needs to have a good showing. The Pats lost opening week to Miami but rebounded to dominate the Minnesota Vikings last week. Another impressive performance against a team they should beat will certainly help New England, who will play back-to-back weeks against Kansas City on the road and Cincinnati the following week at home.

Free Pick: New England 41, Oakland 17
