The Houston Texans are opening the NFL season at home on Sunday, hosting the Chicago Bears. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the NFL Odds for the game have the Texans favored to pick up the victory at home.

Houston could have J.J. Watt back for the home opener in this one, though he’s listed officially as “questionable” at this point. With a strong defense and a solid quarterback in Brock Osweiler, the Texans are thinking of a division title and a run in the post season.

The Texans won all four preseason games, which obviously doesn’t really mean a whole lot, but they did look strong. Last year the Texas lost in the wild-card game to the Kansas City Chiefs, but still won nine games despite having a legitimate No. 1 under center.

Chicago enters another year with unknowns all over the field. Jay Cutler is still the quarterback and they have a pair of good receivers in Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White. The team no longer has Matt Forte, but Jeremy Langford is expected to be able to step into his position.

Depth looks to be a bit of a problem for the Bears, a team that dealt with a lot of injuries last year. They could be OK on the defensive side of the football, but if the Bears turn it over and the defense has to be on the field for a lengthy time, the Texans will be able to wear them down.

Lamar Miller is a great addition for the Texans; he’ll get a bunch of carries here as Houston will beat up on the Bears.
