NFL Football Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

What a Joe Flacco Mega-Contract Would Mean for the Baltimore Ravens

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers welcome in the Baltimore Ravens in NFL Football action on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Ravens favored by a little more than a field goal in this one.

Tampa Bay is one of the worst teams in football. Nothing seems to be going their way this season, but they at least have one victory, having knocked off Pittsburgh a couple of weeks back. They have some close losses, though, falling by six to Carolina, two points to St. Louis and six points in overtime last week to the Saints on the road.

Things could be worse.

Today they take on a Baltimore team that is 3-2. They've started the season with a pretty tough schedule, playing physical teams in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Carolina and Indianapolis to open the season. Taking on a Tampa Bay team, even on the road, could pose good things for the Ravens in this one.

Joe Flacco has the Ravens just on the outside of the AFC North behind Cincinnati. A win here on the road would certainly help, while a loss would put them at 3-3. While they lose in a close one last week to Indy, the numbers say otherwise. The Colts dominated that game from the opening but had to find a way to win late. Baltimore should look to bring a better effort in this one today, in a game they're supposed to win.

Flacco has to be accurate, as well. The Bucs picked off three Drew Brees passes last week and converted them into 14 points overall. But maybe Baltimore will look to keep a good portion of the game on the ground, too. Tampa Bay has given up a ton of yards to opposing running backs and have gotten out-gained in th erun game by an average of 123-64 the last three games overall. Tampa Bay seems to always be behind, so they abandon the run game (or at times just can't run the ball, either).

Mike Glennon could lead them to victory, but the Buccaneers have a bye next week, so maybe they will be looking ahead to some brief time off. Tampa Bay has a serious problem on defense as well, being paper-thin for the most part. That's not good playing a team like Baltimore, which will look to wear them down.

It is the Ravens' third road game in four weeks, but look for them to win today.

Free Pick: Ravens 24, Buccaneers 17
