The San Francisco 49ers are hosting the Arizona Cardinals tonight in NFL Football action. The game is scheduled for an 8:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. The NFL Football Odds for the game have the Cardinals favored to pick up the victory on the road.
Total: 43 points
The Arizona Cardinals are just 1-3 on the season, which has a lot of people scratching their heads to figure out what is wrong with this team. Now the Cardinals are going to play tonight without quarterback Carson Palmer, who is dealing with the effects of suffering a concussion.
San Francisco is also 1-3 on the season, their lone win came at home in the opening game of the season, 28-0, over the Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers have dropped each of the last three games on the season but those game against Carolina, Seattle and Dallas, all quality teams. The Cardinals are in the same grouping as those other three teams when healthy, but without Palmer under center it could bring this one into doubt.
Arizona’s only win came at home over Tampa Bay in beatdown 40-7 fashion. Since then they lost at Buffalo and fell to the Rams 17-13 last week.
Drew Stanton is going to be the starter here for Arizona, he has thrown two picks on the season but has been a serviceable backup that can lead this team to a win.
Both teams obviously need a win because going to 1-4 on the season is all but sealing the deal on missing the post season. Arizona certainly has a better roster comparatively, but how will they enter this game without Palmer to lead the way?
Arizona has been turning it over too much and San Francisco has been okay in home games, giving up just over 15 points per game. The 49ers could really build on a win here.
