The NCAA Women's Final Four takes place tonight and in the first game the Louisville Cardinals will take on the California Golden Bears. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game has Louisville favored by 2.5 points.

The Louisville women's basketball team is looking to have the same result as the men's team from last night. It wouldn't be the first time one school had both teams in the national championship game and it probably won't be the last.

But if you're wondering, Connecticut was the last school in 2004 to have both the men and women's basketball teams win the national championship. Add to that the Cardinals are just the 10th school to have both programs competing in the Final Four at the same time.

Louisville got here by slaying the giant in the Baylor Bears. They were shooting 3's from pretty much everywhere on the floor and hung on for the victory — then they went on to beat Tennessee.

California won 32 games this season, including 17 in the Pac 12 conference and they beat Georgia to get to this point, as the Lady Bulldogs knocked off Stanford in the tournament.

Both teams average 71 points per game offensively and also give up just 56 points to opponents.

Shoni Schimmel leads the Cardinals in points, assists and steals and she will be the catalyst in tonight's game. Cal's leading scorer Layshia Clarendon will also be looking to get her shot in this one. She's averaging better than 22 points per game in the tournament.

Cal center Talia Caldwell is averaging nine points and seven rebounds. She will have to play physically in this one because Louisville plays in the Big East, which is where that style of basketball is played. Louisville will want to utilize their physical play in this one and look to get buckets inside. We like Louisville to cover and win the game.

Free Pick: Louisville 68, California 62
