The Florida State Seminoles are taking on the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday. The game is scheduled for a 9:20 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on TNT. Currently the college basketball odds for the game have the Seminoles favored by double digits to pick up the win and advance.

Florida State is the three seed in the West Region here, but many believe they can get upset here by the 14th seeded Florida Gulf Cost Eagles. The school that used to be known as “Dunk City” still has some high-flyers on the club but they are going to be battling with a really solid group from Florida State here.
The Seminoles and Eagles are playing in Orlando, both being in state for this contest which makes this an interesting matchup. Florida State has size, length and athleticism and that lone makes them good enough to make a nice little run here in the tournament. They are led in scoring by Dwayne Bacon at 17 points a game, Jonathan Isaac is a potential double-double guy and for the whole, the Seminoles are a team that puts up better than 82 points per game. Recently, though, Florida State has struggled to put big points up, averaging just under 72 per contest while going 3-2 to end the season, including the ACC Tournament.
Florida State isn’t a great defensive team and they will have to slow down Brandon Goodwin, an 18-point a game scorer that leads the Eagles.
