NCAA College Football Odds Houston vs UTSA

The Houston Cougars and UTSA Roadrunners will butt heads tomorrow at the Alamodome in San Antonio as Tony Levine's squad looks to stay undefeated. Saturday's non-conference meeting between the Cougars and Roadrunners is scheduled to get underway at 4:00pm ET. The latest NCAA College Football Odds are favoring the visiting Cougars at -2.5 against the spread. The Over/Under is set at 64 points and UTSA is getting +125 money line odds to win the game straight up.

Houston finished a sub-par 5-7 in Tony Levine's first year running the program, but it is well on its way to eclipsing that mark this season after jumping out to a 3-0 start.

The Cougars waxed Southern 62-13 in their opener before earning more toned down wins over Temple (22-13) and Rice (31-26).

Houston's latest win was probably its most impressive as it racked up 21 first downs and 494 yards against a quality Owls team. The Cougars averaged 9.1 yards per pass and rushed for 165 yards on 37 carries in the win.

Freshman Quarterback John O'Korn, filling in for the injured David Piland (concussion), completed less than 50 percent of his passes (15-of-33), but he still threw from 281 yards and three touchdowns in leading Houston to victory.

UTSA brings a 2-2 record into this contest, but it has also played a more difficult schedule than its in-state rival. The Roadrunners opened the season on the road against perennial doormat New Mexico, which they defeated 21-13, but meetings with BCS big boys Oklahoma State and Arizona followed their showdown with the Lobos.

UTSA fell 35-56 to the Cowboys and 13-38 to the Wildcats as they yielded a combined 57 first downs and 1027 yards in the two losses.

The Roadrunners faced a more comparable foe last weekend, and it showed as they whipped UTEP 32-13 at the Sun Bowl in El Paso. UTSA's defense held the Miners to 13 first downs and 218 total yards in the spread covering victory (three point line).

As the spread in this game would indicate, these are two evenly matched teams, but the ATS edge goes to UTSA. The Roadrunners defense has, as mentioned, been hit hard by teams like Oklahoma State, but Houston, despite its prolific offensive history under Art Briles and Kevin Sumlin, is not as explosive as the Cowboys.

Notable Trends: Houston is 2-7 against the spread in its last nine games as a road favorite with a spread between 0 and 3.5 points.

NCAA College Football Odds Houston vs UTSA:

Houston Cougars -2.5 (-110), Over 64 (-110), -145 (Moneyline)

UTSA Roadrunners +2.5 (-110), Under 64 (-110), +125 (Moneyline)
