NBA Playoffs Odds: Pacers vs. Heat Picks, Predictions and Spread

The NBA Playoffs continue Tuesday night in Game 2 between the Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat. The NBA Playoff odds for the game have the Heat favored by 7 points. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start time and it will be televised live on TNT. The spread shows that bookmakers have a prediction of a win for the Heat.

Picks: The Heat were able to pick up a victory in the first game of this series by a comfortable margin down the stretch. Indiana, however, played tough for the majority of the game. The injury to Chris Bosh on a hard foul from Indiana's Roy Hibbert is going to hurt the Heat in this series, especially considering the Pacers are one of the biggest, most physical teams in the league. It's obvious that LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are going to have to lead the Heat if they are going to win an NBA title. Currently the Heat are favored to win the 2012 NBA Championship. Back in Sunday's game, the entire world got to see how the Heat are going to play the remainder of the playoffs if Bosh isn't going to be able to play. James hoisted up 17 shots in the final two quarters while D-Wade tossed up 13. That might seem somewhat normal, but no other player on Miami's roster took more than two shots in the second half. Miami does have some bigs they can rotate in with Ronny Turiaf, Joel Anthony and Udonis Haslem. Matching up with the Pacers is going to be a big deal in tonight's game. Miami out-rebounded Indiana by seven in the first game of the series, taking advantage of second chance opportunities when presented. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said James will also see time at power forward tonight, giving Miami a bit of an athletic advantage down on the blocks. Indiana forward Danny Granger scored just seven points in the opening game of the series after averaging nearly 20 per contest during the regular season. He is going to have to play better if the Pacers are going to be able to hang around tonight.

Prediction: I like the Pacers and the points here. Indiana only lost by nine points in the opening game and didn't get a good outing from their best player. The teams were tied at 70-70 heading into the fourth quarter before the Heat turned it up in the final 12 minutes. Indiana will have to stay out of foul trouble as three of their starters had at least five late in the game and Hibbert fouled out. I'm expecting a much better game from Granger tonight and I think the beef inside will help the Pacers stay close. Miami wins though. Heat 92, Pacers 88
