NBA Playoff Betting Odds Houston Rockets vs Dallas Mavericks Game 4 Free Pick

The NBA Playoffs on Sunday night and we will see the Houston Rockets travel to the American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Mavericks in game 4 of their best-of-seven series. Free Pick to follow. The game has a start time of 7:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas betting odds have Houston listed as 2.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 219.

Analysis: The Houston Rockets are proving to be a very dangerous team as they have now won 16 of their last 20 games, including taking the first three games of this series. The Rockets have gone 27-15 on the year, including 2-1 in games played at Dallas. Houston has gone 12-2 ATS in their last 14 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game, but just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games after scoring more than 125 points in their previous game. The Rockets have scored 104.1 ppg on 44.5% shooting overall and 33.9% from long range on the road this year. Defensively they have struggled away from home as they have allowed 103.0 ppg on 45.0% shooting overall and 34.9% shooting from long range.

Down the Stretch there was allot of talk about Dallas being the team that everyone wanted to play and after their first 3 games vs Houston we can see why as this team is just not a good team right now, especially defensively. Dallas their first two games both games by DD, allowing 118 and 111 points in the process and then allowed Houston 130 points in game 3. The Mavericks are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games after allowing more than 125 points in their previous game, but just 13-32-2 ATS in their last 47 vs. the Western Conference. Dallas has gone 27-14 at home and have scored 106.6 ppg on 47.2% shooting overall and 34.6% from long range at home for the year. Defensively they have not been so good at home, allowing 102.4 ppg on 44.5% shooting overall and 37.4% shooting from long range.

Pick: I will be going with the Rockets here. The Mavericks just don't play enough defense to stop all the weapons that the Rockets have and they have plenty. The Mavs did score 128 points in their last game, but the problem is that they gave up 130. Houston hasn't been strong defensively on the road, but they are still a better defensive team that the Mavs are. I look for the Rockets to close out this series tonight with a win of 6+.
