Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors NBA Playoff Betting Odds Game 5 Free Pick

The NBA Playoffs continue on Wednesday night and I will have a Free Pick in game 5 between the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors, Which will take place at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The game has a start time of 9:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TNT. Current Vegas betting odds have the Warriors listed as 10.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 216.

Analysis: With there backs against the wall the Houston Rockets played with some heart in game 4 as they ran out to a 19-3 lead and never looked back in their 128-115 series saving win. The still have some work to do as no team has ever come back from an 0-3 series deficit and that have had good success vs the Warriors overall this year. Houston has gone 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a SU win of more than 10 points, but just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games after scoring more than 125 points in their previous game. The Rockets have scored 104.8 ppg on 44.5% shooting overall and 34.4% from long range on the road this year. Defensively they have not been so good away from home, where they have allowed 105.2 ppg on 45.6% shooting overall and 35.1% shooting from long range.

The Warriors didn't look ready to play in game 4 and the Rockets really took advantage with the big 13 point win. The Warriors should really close this series out tonight on their home floor where they have lost just 3 times all year long and have gone 4-0 vs the Rockets on this floor this year. The Two teams did play a couple of down to the wire games to begin this series and after getting blownout in game 4 it just means that this should be a full focused Warriors squad for this one. Golden State has gone 24-9-1 ATS in their last 34 games after allowing more than 125 points in their previous game, but just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game. The Warriors have scored 111.7 ppg on 49.2% shooting overall and 40.8% from long range at home this year. Defensively they have been decent at home as they have allowed just 97.9 ppg on 42.9% shooting overall and 33.9% shooting from long range.

Pick: I am going with the Warriors in this game. The Rockets played a hell of a game 4 in what may have been a flat spot for the Warriors, but I don't expect the Warriors to come out flat in this one. They are at home, where they have lost just 3 games all year and they do not want to give the Rockets any hope by letting them hang around in this game. The Warriors are clearly the better team here and should walk away with a rather easy win in this one.
