The Golden State Warriors will look to reverse their recent fortunes this evening when they meet the Southwest leading Spurs at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. Tonight’s game between Golden State and San Antonio has a scheduled start time of 8:30pm ET. The latest NBA Friday Odds have the Spurs listed as a -12 against the spread favorite and a prohibitive -975 moneyline play ($975 wins $100). The total in this evening’s contest is set at 202.5 points.
Golden State has had a nice season to this point, sitting second in the Pacific Division with a 23-14 record, but it has hit a rough patch of late. The Warriors lost for the fourth time in five games on Wednesday night when the Heat scorched them 92-75 at the ORACLE Arena.
Golden State, which played without point guard Stephen Curry (not expected to play tonight or Saturday night – ankle), shot just 36.3 percent from the field and 25 percent from beyond the arc in the double digit loss. The Warriors also had 21 turnovers to Miami’s 11.
Golden State, the league’s fifth highest scoring road team (100.6), will almost certainly need a better offensive effort tonight in order to beat the Spurs.
San Antonio, which is 17-2 as a host, averages 106.1 points per game at home and it has outscored the last 13 visitors to the AT&T Center by an average of 16.6 points per game (13-0 in those games).
Making matters worse for Golden State is its track record against the Spurs. The Warriors, who have not won at San Antonio since February of 1997, are 0-25 straight up and 7-18 against the spread in their last 25 games at the AT&T Center.
