Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trailblazers NBA Betting Odds, Free Pick

Tuesday night NBA and we will see the Golden State Warriors travel to the Moda Center to take on the Portland Trailblazers. The game has a start time of 10:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TNT. Current Vegas betting odds have the Warriors listed as 5 point favorites, while the total is set at 207.

Analysis:  The Golden State Warriors come in with the best record in the NBA at 57-13 overall, which includes a 23-11 mark on the road.  The Warriors have won 11 of their last 12 games overall and in the only meeting between this teams this year Golden State won 95-90 on this floor. Golden State has gone 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, but just 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games. The Warriors have been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 1st in scoring (109.7 ppg), 1st in shooting, 1st in 3 point shooting and 8th in FT shooting. Defensively the Clippers have been solid, ranking 14th in points allowed (99.0 ppg), 1st in defensive FG% and 5th in 3 point defense.

The Portland Trailblazers come in leading the Northwest Division by 5 games over the Oklahoma City Thunder, but they are not playing good ball at the moment as they come in having lost their last 4 games in a row. If the playoffs started today they would be a 4 seed in the West. Portland has gone 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. the Pacific Division, but just 5-13 ATS the last 18 meetings in the series. The Trailblazers have been a decent offensive team this year, ranking 10th in scoring (102.6 ppg), 18th in shooting, 8th in 3 point shooting and 1st in FT shooting. Defensively the Trailblazers have been decent this year, ranking 10th in points allowed (97.9 ppg), 5th in defensive FG% and 2nd in 3 point defense.

Pick: I will be looking at the Under in this game. This is the 2nd of BB nights for the Warriors and they have been playing at a bit slower pace on those games. The Warriors are very average in terms of points allowed, but they do play excellent defense as they are 1st in the league in defensive FG% The Blazers have been a good offensive team this year, but they are off a long road trip and may come back a bit sluggish here. We also note that this team plays excellent defense at home, allowed just 93.7 ppg at the Moda Center this year. Hard to see this one being that high scoring at all.
