NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race Start Time

The NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will run on Saturday night from Charlotte Motor Speedway. The race has a start time of 7:30 p.m. and will be televised nationally on SPEED. Currently Kyle Busch is sitting on the pole, running his qualifying time at 136.006 MPH for the All-Star Race. Busch is also currently the odds-on favorite to win the race at 5/1.

The All-Star Race isn't calculated into the overall NASCAR points for the season, however it is highly regarded as a great event for the drivers, teams and fans alike. Busch will start on the opening line with Ryan Newman in the 20-car field. Busch captured the pole for the Sprint All-Star race for the second straight year. However, the last pole winner to win the All-Star race was Davey Allison in 1992. Finishing first in this race has a $1 million prize.

Denny Hamlin will start third, followed by Greg Biffle and Kevin Harvick rounding out the top five. The format is a bit weird for the race. It's a 90-lap race that will be split into four 20-lap segments before a final 10-lap shootout at the end of the race to see who claims the $1 million. There will be a mandatory pit stop prior to the shootout. The format has a lot riding on who wins one of the four segments and also showcases the importance of the pit crew for each driver. The winner of each of the first four segments will move to the front of the field right before the cars head down pit road for their mandatory stop before the final 10 laps. Drivers will then line up in the order they leave pit road to start the final segment. Nothing like making it a bit more exciting for the fans.

Odds for the race: Kyle Busch 5-1, Jimmie Johnson 7-1, Tony Stewart 8-1, Matt Kenseth 8-1, Greg Biffle 8-1, Denny Hamlin 8-1, Carl Edwards 10-1, Kevin Harvick 10-1, Jeff Gordon 12-1, Brad Keselowski 12-1, Dale Earnhardt Jr. 15-1, FIELD 15-1, Ryan Newman 15-1, Kasey Kahne 20-1, Clint Bowyer 30-1, Mark Martin 30-1, Paul Menard 40-1, Kurt Busch 50-1, Marcos Ambrose 50-1, Trevor Bayne 50-1.
