Monday Night Football: Odds Have Ravens Favored by Ten Over Jaguars

Monday Night Football has host Jacksonville Jaguars sitting as 10-point underdogs to the visiting Baltimore Ravens. Pre-season projections from Cantor Gaming in Las Vegas had the odds on this game at the Ravens -4.0, but it officially opened up at -8.5 and has been bet up to -10.0. Early reports from oddsmakers have close to 80% of the public Monday Night Football picks coming in on the favored Baltimore Ravens. The game has a start time of 8:30pm ET and will be broadcast on ESPN live from EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Baltimore Ravens should make it a difficult night for Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert as they have only allowed four touchdown passes all season long. Following their letdown after the blowout of the Steelers, the Ravens have been playing like Super Bowl contenders in every contest so far. Baltimore has been solid on Monday Night Football, covering 10 of 15 in the favorites role.

This is an important game for Jacksonville Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio as offshore oddsmakers have him penciled in as the second most likely coach to be the first fired this season at +250 (Tony Sparano from the Miami Dolphins is first). Even though they are technically the "home" team for Monday Night Football, the Jaguars have not exactly been receiving tons of fan support this season. The Jags rank last in total yards and second from the bottom in points. With the Ravens being very tough to pass against, the Jaguars will need a big game from Maurice Jones-Drew if they have any chance of winning tonight.

Free Monday Night Football Pick: Even though the public is all over the Ravens, it is difficult to not think "joe public" is right on this one. Most average bettors are not betting on Monday Night Football early in the week and this game opened up at -8.5 and moved up to -9.5/-10.0 early on, so the assumption is professional bettors also back the road favorite. Yes, The Jaguars managed a cover against the Steelers, but they were outgained 370-209 and will probably bring bring heart break to the sportsbooks as another prime-time NFL favorites wins easily. The lone shot for a Jaguars cover is their slow paced offense that could prevent a big blowout, but if that is all the Jaguars having going we like the Ravens minus the points. Baltimore Ravens 34- Jacksonville Jaguars 10
