The Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks this afternoon in matinee MLB Tuesday action. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on MLB Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Dodgers favored to pick up the win.

Kenta Maeda makes his second career Major League start this afternoon. He threw six scoreless innings against the San Diego Padres in his debut, striking out five in that game. Maeda will obviously be facing the Diamondbacks for the first time tonight in addition to making his debut at Dodger Stadium. 

Arizona gives the ball to Patrick Corbin, who lost his season-opener to Colorado last week. Corbin surrendered three home runs in that game, which scored four total runs in seven innings of work despite striking out six. Both Adrian Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig have hit homers off Corbin in their careers while Justin Turner has five hits in 10 career at bats against him.

The Dodgers come in having dropped three of the last four games to the arch-rival San Francisco Giants. They swept the Padres to open the season in three games without giving up a run but then gave up 27 runs to the Giants in four games.

The Diamondbacks have struggled with consistency issues so far this season, winning just two of the first seven games. Each of them were played at home, Arizona dropped three of four games to the Cubs in their last series.

Maeda gives the Dodgers a great chance to win this afternoon. They have stumbled recently but playing in the home opener gives them an edge.
