The Los Angeles Dodgers six game road swing continues this evening as they open a three game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Tonight’s series opener between the two NL West rivals is scheduled to get underway at 9:40pm ET. The latest MLB Odds have the Dodgers, who will send Clayton Kershaw to the hill, listed as a -150 moneyline favorite ($150 wins $100) and the Over/Under set at 7.5 runs. The Diamondbacks are drawing +135 odds ($100 wins $135) to win their seventh game of the season.

The Dodgers won for the fifth time in six games last night, taking their three game set opposite the Padres with a 3-2 win. The victory came at a cost, though, as Zack Greinke, L.A.’s big offseason acquisition, suffered a broken collarbone when he and San Diego’s Carlos Quentin scuffled at the mound.

Greinke, who hit Quentin in the elbow with a 3-2 count, is expected to miss anywhere from six to eight weeks. Nonetheless, the injury should not affect the Dodgers tonight with Clayton Kershaw toeing the rubber.

Kershaw, who is 7-5 with a 2.25 ERA in 14 starts against the Diamondbacks, has been near perfect this season. The big left-hander has yielded just six hits and zero earned runs while striking out 16 in 16 innings pitched.

Arizona (6-3), which avoided being swept at home with a 10-2 win over the Pirates on Wednesday, will counter Kershaw with its own southpaw in 23 year old Patrick Corbin.

Corbin is 1-0 on the season after giving up eight hits and two earned runs over six innings in a 9-2 Diamondbacks win at Milwaukee. For his career Corbin is 1-1 with a 1.88 ERA (three games, two starts) against the Dodgers.

The Diamondbacks are 10-2 in their last 12 games against the Dodgers and they are 5-1 in their last six meetings with L.A. at Chase Field.

Notable Trends: The Dodgers are 8-2 in their last 10 games as a road favorite with Kershaw on the hill and being opposed by a lefty (Over was 7-2-1 in those same 10 games).
