The New York Yankees welcome in the Kansas City Royals in Memorial Day Major League Baseball action today. The game is is scheduled for a 1:07 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Yankees listed as a small favorite to pick up the win.

Memorial Day baseball is obviously a tradition in the United States and having a great matchup between Kansas City and New York should help add to the history. Guthrie held Detroit and Texas, on the road, to two earned runs while shutting out Cincinnati through six innings his last time out.

Current Yankees own an average of .322 against him in 171 at bats. Jacoby Ellsbury has the best numbers at 21-for-50 but he's on the disabled list.

The Yankees will trot out Nathan Eovaldi, who is 3-1 with a 4.73 ERA this season in eight starts The hard-thrower has given up nine earned runs in his last two outings combined, which has led to two Yankees losses. Current Royals own a .500 average against him in just eight at bats.
