Major League Baseball Odds Toronto Blue Jays vs Los Angeles Angels

Wednesday baseball and we will see the Toronto Blue Jays take on the Los Angeles Angels in game 3 of their 3 game series from Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. First pitch is scheduled for a 3:35 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.

Current Odds

Toronto             +139
Los Angeles       -153

Over/ Under: 8 U -115

Analysis: The Toronto Blue Jays come having won just 3 of their last 11 games and it has cost them the lead in the AL East, as they are currently 2.5 games behind the Baltimore Orioles. The Blue Jays are a solid offensive team, but it seems to be suffering with the loss of late as they have scored a total of 6 runs in the first 5 games of this road trip. Still they are 5th in the league in scoring (4.49), 9th in hitting (.257) and 1st in homers (116). The Pitching for the Jays has been a problem, as they come in ranked 21st in ERA (3.96) and 26th in WHIP (1.36). Taking the hill for Toronto will be Marcus Stroman, who is 4-2 with a 3.44 ERA overall, but he has excelled since being put in the starting rotation, going 3-2 with a 2.08 ERA in 7 starts. He has not faced the Halos.

The Los Angeles Angels are a hot team, as they come in having won 14 of their last 18 games, which puts them at 15 games over .500 for the year, but with last night's loss and the A's win they have fallen back to 4.5 games behind Oakland in the AL West. The Angels have been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 2nd in the league in scoring (4.91 rpg), 4th in hitting (.265) and 5th in homers (97). This is the kind of offense that should be expected with all the talent on this team. The Pitching has been average as they come in ranked 15th in ERA (3.85) and 10th in WHIP (1.24). Getting the Ball for the Halos today will be CJ Wilson, who is 8-6 with a 4.23 ERA overall, while at home he is 6-1 with a 3.86 ERA. CJ is 2-3 with a 4.22 ERA in 8 career starts vs the Blue Jays.

Pick: I will be going with the Angels to bounce back from last night's loss. This is not a team that will be shutout often this year and when they do that offense should wake back up the next night. Even with last night's loss the Halos have still won 14 of heir last 18 games and they have the best home record in the league at 31-15.  The Jays have won just 3 of their last 11 games and i just don't see them having enough to take a second game in a row here in LA.
