The New York Yankees will host the Tampa Bay Rays tonight in the final game for Alex Rodriguez as a member of the Pinstripes. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. Currently the MLB Odds for the game have the Rays favored to pick up the win.

Alex Rodriguez reportedly asked to play third base tonight, his final game for the New York Yankees. There's been a lot of speculation that Rodriguez could latch on with another team, potentially a contender, but for tonight this appears to be the curtain call for A-Rod. Yankee skipper Joe Girardi stands by his comments about "still being in it" but who is he kidding? 

New York is 6.5 games back in the American League East and only 3.5 back in the AL Wild Card, but his team was a major seller at the trade deadline and the perception for this season is they will quickly fall. 

The Rays are sending Chris Archr, struggling ace, to the mound tonight. Archer is 6-15 on the season with a 4.26 ERA, though in 11 of his losses this year Archer has given up four earned runs or less. He lost his only start against the Yankees this season back in May, throwing eight innings and surrendering just one earned run, but it was not enough to win. Current Yankees are hitting .256 against him in 164 at bats. 

C.C. Sabathia (6-9, 4.18 ERA) gets the ball for New York. Current Rays are clubbing an average of .329 over 161 at bats against Sabathia, including Evan Longoria homering six times with a .388 average covering 67 at bats. 

A-Rod will get all of the attention tonight, but don't be surprised if the Rays win.
