Washington gets Bryce Harper back after he served his suspension, but he'll be looking to bounce back from a tough day on Sunday. Even so, Harper sports an on-base percentage above .440 and leads a Nationals offense that is tops in the league in many offensive categories.
Los Angeles will start lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu (2-5, 3.91 ERA) tonight. At home he's 2-1 with a 3.05 ERA, but he does have limited appearances against the Nationals, throwing in just 20 plate appearances against them. Washington has had some success in those limited at bats, clubbing seven hits.
Gio Gonzalez (4-1, 3.03 ERA) will start tonight for the Nationals. He's had a strong season to date, throwing at least five innings in every start this season and allowing more than three earned runs in only two starts. Current Dodgers have 117 plate appearances against Gonzalez, nobody owns a home run in those at bats or has double-digit hits as the veteran lefty has held Los Angeles to a .158 average.
Washington brings in a quality road record, posting 19-11 in away games. The Dodgers, on the other hand, are tied with Arizona for the best home record in baseball at 21-8.
