The Major League Baseball season continues this afternoon with a game between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets. The game is scheduled for a 3:45 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the MLB odds for the game have the Giants listed as a small favorite to pick up the victory here at home.
MLB Odds
San Francisco -120
Total: O 7.5 runs (+102), U 7.5 runs (-122)
Blake Snell was supposed to be an A+ free agent signing for the San Francisco Giants. It obviously has gotten off to a terrible start as Snell is winless in three starts with an almost 12 ERA. It hasn't been great.
But, I like the Giants to bounce back here today. The Mets are looking to avoid being swept in this series and have come back to Earth a little bit after being red hot recently. New York sends Sean Manaea to the bump here and he has been very solid to date, in four of his starts he's allowed two or fewer runs.
This will be a lower-scoring game, or at least it looks like it should. I'm going with San Francisco as I expect Snell to bounce back enough and have a better start. Missing Spring Training was not good for him, but expect him to have a better start here in this one. The Mets aren't bad against lefties (sixth in the league in slugging against them) and the Giants have been solid since getting blown out by Arizona the other day.
I'll take Snell at a low price here at home.
