Monday major league baseball and we will see the Boston Red Sox take on the Los Angeles Angels in game 3 of their 4 game series from Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Free Pick to follow. First pitch is scheduled for a 5:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.
Red Sox +108
Over/ Under: 8 U -120
This is a make up game from the one that got rained out last night. The Sox went into the break playing good ball, but they have run into a hotter Angels squad that shutout out Boston in each of the first two games of this series. Boston is in last place in the East and are 7.5 games behind division leading New York, while the Halos took over the lead in the west on the last day before the break and have now increased that lead to 1.5 games over the Astros. The Red Sox rank 16th in scoring (4.13 rpg), while on the mound they are 28th in ERA (4.39). The Angels rank 15th in scoring (4.13 rpg), while on the mound they are 8th in ERA (3.56).
Trends for this game include: The Red Sox are 9-2 in their last 11 games following a loss, but just 5-16 in their last 21 games after losing the first 2 games of a series, while the Angels are 7-0 in their last 7 games vs. a left-handed starter and 41-18 in their last 59 home games vs. a team with a losing record.
Getting the ball for the Red Sox tonight will be Eduardo Rodriguez, who is 5-2 with a 3.59 ERA in 9 starts this year, while on the road he has gone 3-0 with an 0.69 ERA in 4 starts. He has yet to face the Halos in his brief career.
Taking the hill for the Angels tonight will be Hector Santiago, who is 6-4 with a 2.33 ERA overall this year, while at home he has gone 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 10 starts. Hector s 0-3 with a 3.91 ERA in 5 games (4 starts) vs the Sox in his career.
Pick: I really like the Under in this game and I will stick with pretty much the same writeup on the game I had yesterday that was rained out. The only thing I will add here is that the odd start time should favor the pitchers, because of the shadows. he Sox have been shutout in their last 2 games and Boston hits lefties at just a .229 clip on the road and they score just 3.13 rp/9 off of them away from home. LA Has struggled to score in this series as they have totaled just 4 runs on a mere 7 hits in the two games, plus we note that LA hits lefties at just a .220 clip at home. These are two struggling offenses and they will face a couple of hot pitchers in this one. Rodriguez has been solid for Boston this year, while in his last 3 games he has an ERA of 2.08, while in 4 road starts this year he has an ERA of just 0.69. Hector Santiago comes in with a 1.00 ERA in his last 4 starts and a solid 2.25 ERA at home. These offenses have really struggled of late and I don't see them getting it going vs these two solid lefties. 4 or 5 runs at most here.

How to Bet Canadian Football: Take Advantage of the Rule Change
Vegas gambling experts Scott Spreitzer and Steve Fezzik offer some winning betting tips for Candian Football fans. A new CFL rule change will result in higher-scoring games, so Fezzik suggests betting the overs on win totals once the season is in full swing in Week 5. Like the NFL, CFL offenses play catch up early in the season, but eventually get in a groove that results in high-scoring games and possibly lucrative wagers.
