Here is how the tournament is set up for the event:
No. 1 Mark Trumbo vs. No. 8 Corey Seager
No. 2 Todd Frazier vs. No. 7 Carlos Gonzalez
No. 3 Adam Duvall vs. No. 6 Wil Myers
No. 4 Robinson Cano vs. No. 8 Gianarlo Stanton
Stanton is the overall favorite to win the title this season. The Derby is once again going to be single elimination with two brackets set up. Each of the rounds are timed as well, listed at five minutes and the clock stops for every home run hit in the final minute per hitter.
Petco Park isn't the most hitter friendly facility, but when it comes to the Derby that should be no issue. With the eight participants each having at least 17 home runs this year, the baseball should have no issues flying out consistently.
