Major League Baseball Betting Odds New York Yankees vs Washington Nationals Free Pick

Major league baseball on Wednesday night and we will see the New York Yankees travel to the Nation's Capital to take on the Washington NationalsFree pick to follow. First pitch is scheduled for a 7:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.

Betting Odds

Yankees                +125
Nationals                -135

Over/ Under: 7.5 O -115

This is game 2 of a 2 game series between these interleague foes. Last night the Nats fell behind 6-0 in the game before rallying to win 8-6 in 10 innings. Washington is now 13-3 in their last 16 games and have climbed into a tie with the NY Mets in the NL East with a 23-17 record. New York is now 22-18 on the year and are tied atop the AL East with the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yanks rank 10th in the league in scoring (4.42 rpg), while on the mound they are 10th in ERA (3.70). The Nationals rank 2nd in scoring (5.05 rpg), while on the mound they are 8th in ERA (2.62).

Trends for this game include: The Yanks are 24-9 in their last 33 interleague road games vs. a team with a winning record and 4-1 in Warren's last 5 road starts, but 0-5 in their last 5 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Nats have gone 12-2 in their last 14 games with the total set at 7.0-8.5, 56-24 in their last 80 interleague games as a favorite and 22-5 in Zimmermann's last 27 starts during game 2 of a series

Getting the ball for New York tonight will be Adam Warren, who is 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA on the year overall, while on the road he has gone 2-1 with a 6.04 ERA in 4 starts. Adam has never faced the Nationals and has gone 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in 14 interleague relief appearances.

Getting the ball for the Nationals tonight will be Jordan Zimmerman, who is 3-2 with a 3.66 ERA for the year, while going 1-1 with a 2.49 ERA in 4 home starts this year. Jordan has faced the Yanks just once in his career (2012) and he allowed just 2 ER's in 6 innings in that game. He got a no-decision in that game, but the Nats did lose by a score of 5-3.

Pick: Really hard not to look at the over here, especially with the way the Nationals have been swinging the bat of late as they have scored 7.6 rpg in their last 11 games. This offense looks very good right now and they should be able to get plenty of runs vs Adam Warren, who has a 4.50 ERA overall and a 6.04 ERA on the road. 11 RPG have ben scored in Adam's 4 road starts this year. The Yankee offenses has struggled of late, but they did score 6 runs last night and should be good for a few off of Zimmerman in this one. That Nats last 121 home games have averaged 12.2 rpg and this one may hit DD as well.

MLB Free Betting Pick: Kansas City Royals at Cincinnnati Reds
Professional bettor Teddy Covers explains to handicapper Steve Fezzik why the Kansas City Royals will reign supreme in Cincinnati ths Wednesday and he can basicall be summed up in two words: Jason Marquis. Or, in song, using the WKRP in Cincinnati lyrics. As Covers points out, Marquis has played for several pro baseball teams the past couple of seasons and, while he is okay to plug in for a few innings, this guy's non-Petco Park ERA is a massive liability. With Cincinnati's liability on the mound, Teddy is willing to lay up to -150 on the Royals to win the game.
