Major League Baseball Odds Baltimore Orioles vs Los Angeles Angels

Tuesday night baseball and we will see the Baltimore Orioles take on the Los Angeles Angels in game 2 of their 3 game series from Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California. First pitch is scheduled for a 10:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised on locally.

Current Odds

Baltimore          +118
Los Angeles      -128

Over/ Under: 8.5 O -115

Analysis: The Baltimore Orioles took game 1 of this series last night , which now has them at 54-44 on the year and 4 games ahead of both the Blue Jays and Yankees in the AL East. Baltimore is 28-21 on the road and 13-8 vs the AL West this year. The Orioles have been a solid offensive team this year, as they come in ranked 8th in the league in scoring (4.32 rpg), 4th in hitting (.263) and 1st in homers (121). The pitching, though, has been not been that great, as they rank 18th in the league in ERA (3.89) and 21st in WHIP (1.31). Getting the ball for the Orioles tonight will be Miguel Gonzalez, who is 4-5 with a 4.04 ERA on the year, while on the road he is 2-3 with a 4.76 ERA. In 3 career starts vs the Halos, he is 2-1 with a 2.14 ERA.

The Los Angeles Angels lost last night's game but have still won 21 of their last 27 games and are just 2 games behind the Oakland A's in the AL West. The Angels are 59-39 on the year overall and have gone 34-17 at home, which is the best home mark in the league. The Angels offense has been great this year, as they come in ranked 1st in scoring (5.01 rpg), 3rd in hitting (.268) and 5th in homers (104). The pitching has been average, as they are 15th in the league in ERA (3.78) and 8th in WHIP (1.23). Taking the hill for the Halos tonight will be Hector Santiago, who is just 1-7 with a 4.72 ERA in 12 starts this year. He has spent a little tine in the Pen but those are his starter numbers.

Pick: I will be siding with the Halos to bounce back from last night's loss. The offense was held to 2 runs and that won't happen very often. The offense is just too good and will have a much better showing tonight vs Miguel Gonzalez, who is just 2-3 with a 4.76 ERA on the road this year. The Halos will send out Hector Santiago, who has struggled in the starters role, but the Halos have won his last 3 starts, scoring 10.7 rpg for him in the process. I just can't see the Angels losing 2 in a row on their home field, where they have the best home record in the league. LA bounces back from last night's tough loss.
