No. 20 Louisville will look to take its record to 4-0 tonight as it faces Sun Belt squad Florida International at FIU Stadium in Miami (7:00pm ET start time, ESPN 3). Louisville at Florida International Odds are favoring the visiting Cardinals at -11 against the spread and -370 on the money line. The hosting Panthers are a +305 money line play ($100 wins $305); tonight’s game total is set at 52 points.

Louisville procured its first 3-0 start since the 2006 season last week with a 39-34 win over North Carolina. The Cardinals stormed out to a 29-0 lead against the Tar Heels on the strength of a brilliant performance from sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater completed 23-of-28 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns, but all three of his scoring strikes came in the first half.

The Cardinals post halftime offensive struggles nearly came back to bite them, though, as North Carolina scored three late touchdowns to bring the would be blowout within five points.

The late collapse, no doubt, gave Head Coach Charlie Strong an opportunity to stress the importance of finishing strong, an attribute that could come in handy against FIU this evening.

The Panthers, an 8-5 team last season, have been a bit of a disappointment thus far, putting together a 1-2 record with losses to Duke and Central Florida. At least one of those setbacks was expected, however, with 17 starters and 48 letter men back, some were of the opinion FIU could jump out to its own 3-0 start.

Instead, it would appear the Panthers are slated for a 1-3 opening with the Cardinals giving 11 points in this contest. Given Louisville’s recent September record, FIU could be in for a 1-3 start opposite the number as well. The Cardinals are 8-2 straight up and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games as a road favorite in the month of September,
