The Los Angeles Lakers will attempt to reach the break even point tonight as they battle the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center. This evening’s meeting between the Lakers and Nuggets has a scheduled start time of 9:00pm ET. NBA Odds are favoring the Nuggets at -7.5 against the spread and -320 on the moneyline ($320 wins $100). Tonight’s game total is set at 217 points.

The Lakers slow climb back to .500 is near completion after yesterday’s gritty 103-99 win at Dallas. Los Angeles, which remains 2.5 games back of the final Western Conference playoff spot, relied mostly on Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant against the Mavericks as the rest of the starting lineup struggled to find the basket.

Nash finished the game with 20 points while Bryant dropped in a game high 38 on 13-of-21 shooting. Both Nash and Bryant went 4-for-5 from beyond the arc.

The Lakers, which opened the month of February with a 20-26 record, now sit at 28-29 with the Nuggets on tap. Unfortunately for L.A., it will face Denver at the Pepsi Center rather than the STAPLES Center.

While the 35-22 Nuggets are on a 2-4 run, they remain, arguably, the league’s best home team. Denver, which topped the Lakers 126-114 at the Pepsi Center in late December, is 23-3 at home this season.

The Nuggets also appear to be working out of their recent road skid. Denver sandwiched a 119-113 loss at Washington last Friday between a 97-90 home win over the Celtics and a 113-99 road win opposite the Bobcats.
