Kansas City Chiefs 2012 NFL Predictions and Super Bowl Odds

The Kansas City Chiefs defense of their 2010 AFC West title did not go well as injuries dealt a back breaking blow to the team early in its 2011 campaign. Despite the poor luck, the Chiefs remained competitive and nearly won the division with a 7-9 record. The odds makers at Sportsbook.ag, based upon their Kansas City Chiefs 2012 NFL Predictions and Super Bowl Odds, are expecting more from the club this season. Kansas City is favored to win Over 8 games at -125 odds ($125 to win $100); however, it is a third pick to win the AFC West at +300 odds ($100 to win $300). The Chiefs are drawing +1500 odds to win the AFC Championship and +4000 odds to win Super Bowl XLVII.

Kansas City has one of the youngest rosters in the league and a defense that played like one of the best in the NFL down the stretch last season. What the Chiefs do not possess is a top shelf quarterback who has demonstrated consistency year in and year out.

Matt Cassel’s tenure with the Chiefs has been a mixed bag to say the least. The former Patriot has battled injuries and his own physical limitations, but he has also displayed a tremendous amount of toughness and an ability to perform well when complemented by a quality ground game.

So, in short, Kansas City has a number of important roster pieces in place, but it has a glaring uncertainty under center. For that reason, presumably, Las Vegas odds maker Cantor Gaming has the Chiefs favored in just six games in its 2012 NFL regular season point spreads (weeks one through 16 only).
