Iowa Hawkeyes vs Nebraska Cornhuskers College Football Odds

Bo Pelini could be coaching in his final regular season game as the Huskers front man when Nebraska takes on the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday in Lincoln (12:00pm ET, ABC). Perhaps a win over Iowa and a bowl victory preserve Pelini's job, but there are no guarantees for the fiery coach at this juncture. The latest College Football Odds from 5Dimes are expecting a Cornhuskers victory on Friday, though. Nebraska is lined as a -2.5 against the spread favorite and the Over/Under is set at 47.5 points.

Most pundits expected Nebraska to win the Big Ten Legends Division this season, but the Huskers enter Friday's clinging to second place in the standings. Michigan State, which is a perfect 7-0 in conference play, has wrapped up the division, leaving Nebraska locked in a battle with Iowa for runner-up status.

The Huskers own a nice 8-3 record, but fans of the program expect more, and home losses to UCLA and the aforementioned Spartans do not sit well. Neither does a road loss at Minnesota, regardless of the progress the Gophers have made under Jerry Kill and his staff.

Setbacks like the Minnesota one are what, in part, have fans calling for the dismissal of Pelini. A loss to Iowa would transform those calls into screams.

That possibility certainly exists given the Huskers penchant for keeping things close. Nebraska has dominated lesser competition this season, beating teams like Southern Miss, Illinois, and Purdue with ease, but middling to good teams have proven more problematic.

The Cornhuskers are 3-2 in their last five games, but both losses were by double digits (Minnesota, Michigan State) while the three victories, which came against Northwestern, Michigan, and Penn State were by a combined 10 points.

Iowa has experienced similar woes, falling to Michigan State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin while beating Northwestern and Michigan by an average of five points per game.

The Hawkeyes have been a competitive road team as well, posting a 3-1 mark away from Kinnick Stadium. Iowa won road meetings with Iowa State, Minnesota, and Purdue, outscoring that trio 88-42 while losing 24-34 to the Buckeyes in Columbus.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs Nebraska Cornhuskers College Football Odds:

Iowa Hawkeyes +2.5 (-110), Over 47.5 (-110), +115 (Moneyline)

Nebraska Cornhuskers -2.5 (-110),Under 47.5 (-110), -135 (Moneyline)
