The New York Giants and Carolina Panthers are winless on the young season, but at least one of the two teams will secure its first win today as they meet at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. This afternoon's battle between the Giants and Panthers is scheduled to kick off at 1:00pm ET; it will be broadcast live on FOX. The latest NFL Odds Week 3 from 5Dimes have the game listed as an against the spread Pick'em, but New York is a slight favorite to win straight up at -125 money line odds ($125 wins $100). The Over/Under in today's game is presently set at 47 points.

The Giants season has been an unmitigated disaster thus far with Eli Manning and company falling 31-36 in Dallas to open the season and 41-23 last weekend in their home opener against Denver.

From a statistical stand point, New York has played quite well, accumulating 54 points, 49 first downs, and 804 total yards, but turnovers have doomed it to failure.

The Giants had six turnover against the Cowboys, which made the closeness of the final score somewhat miraculous, and they finished -4 in turnover margin against Denver as Eli Manning tossed four interceptions.

Carolina comes into today's game with an 0-2 mark as well, and it too has been competitive, losing 12-7 to the Seahawks and 24-23 to the Bills. However, the Panthers were out-gained 806 yards to 561 in the two setbacks.

There was nothing out of the normal in either loss, though, as the Panthers played even in the turnover department while avoiding having any defensive or special teams touchdowns scored against them.

At some point New York will quit turning the ball over and when it does, its opposition will suffer. That could well be today as the Giants, who have never started 0-3 under Tom Coughlin, spanked Carolina 36-7 at Bank of America Stadium last September.

Notable Trends: The Giants are 5-1 both straight up and against the spread in their last six games as a road dog with a total between 44.5 and 47 points.
