Syracuse will look to close out its regular season slate with three straight wins when it battles Big East rival Temple at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia tomorrow morning (11:00am start time, ESPN2). The Syracuse Orange are not in the Big East title chase nor are they seeking bowl eligibility after earning their sixth win of the season last week at Missouri; however, they are, in all likelihood, looking to earn their fair share of respect when they close out the regular season tomorrow against Temple.
The Orange got their season off to a slow start, losing four of their first six games, but they have turned things around with an impressive closing run. Syracuse has won four of its last five games to improve to 6-5 overall and it has turned into an offensive power seemingly overnight, averaging 35.4 points per game since an October 13th loss at Rutgers.
The Orange’s offensive surge should continue tomorrow against a Temple squad that has struggled to keep teams out of the end zone. The Owls have yielded totals of 35, 47, 45, 34, and 32 points over the last five weeks, leading to an unenviable 1-4 stretch. For the season Temple is allowing over 30 points and 430 yards per game and it has held just one conference foe under 28 points (Connecticut).
