Big East rivals Cincinnati and Louisville will take center stage this evening as they battle for the legendary Keg of Nails. Start time in tonight’s conference showdown between the Bearcats and Cardinals is scheduled for 8:00pm ET at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium; the game will be broadcast live on ESPN. Cincinnati at Louisville Odds are favoring the host squad at -3.5 against the spread. The game total in this evening’s game is set at 52.5 points.

Cincinnati suffered its first loss of the season last week, but fortunately for the Bearcats it came against the MAC’s Toledo Rockets. With Rutgers and Louisville both undefeated in league play, Cincinnati could ill afford a conference loss.

The Bearcats, who are 1-0 in Big East action, have some ground to make up on both schools should they hope to secure the conference title. Cincinnati has played just one league game while the Scarlet Knights and Cardinals are 4-0 and 2-0 in Big East games, respectively.

Cincinnati, which fell to 5-1 on the season with last week’s loss, desperately needs a win this evening, but it has to feel good about its chances, regardless of Louisville’s unblemished record. The Bearcats have won the last four meetings between these two teams, including the last two at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium (average margin of victory = 14 points).

Louisville has also lived on the edge a bit of late, skirting disaster on a number of occasions, including last week when it just slipped past South Florida 27-25 at home. The Cardinals are 4-0 as a host with wins over Kentucky, Missouri State, North Carolina, and the aforementioned Bulls; however, aside from a sloppy, underachieving Tar Heels team, Louisville has not faced a threat like the Bearcats.
