The Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes will renew their rivalry this weekend as they meet for the first time since 2008 (Gators win 26-3). Start time in Saturday's showdown between Florida and Miami is set for 12:00pm ET at Sun Life Stadium; the game will be broadcast live on ESPN. The 2013 Gators looked a lot like last year's crew in their season opener against Toledo. Florida's defense suffocated a solid Rockets offense, holding Toledo to 12 first downs and 205 total yards while its offense had some nice moments but still demonstrated its second fiddle status in a 24-6 victory.

Miami, meanwhile, romped its way to a 34-6 win over a less impressive Florida Atlantic squad. The Hurricanes, despite a sluggish first quarter (led 3-0), showed why some believe they have an opportunity to compete for the ACC title.

Miami's offense amassed 502 yards in 69 plays and its rushing attack churned out 303 yards in 38 carries for an astounding eight yards per carry average. FAU totaled just 250 yards for the game while averaging a pathetic 3.3 yards per play.

Senior quarterback Stephen Morris had a mixed season debut, completing 15-of-27 passes for 160 yards, one touchdown, and one pick, but sophomore running back Duke Johnson produced an incredible stat line, rushing for 186 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries.

There is little doubt the Hurricanes feature the more explosive offense in this matchup and they ought to find more ways to take advantage of Florida's defense than Toledo. The Gators still have plenty of talent on that side of the ball, but they are down seven starters from last year's unit.

No disrespect to the Rockets, but their offense is not on par with the one Miami will trot out Saturday afternoon. The Hurricanes are not going to short circuit the scoreboard; however, they have enough weapons to stay in this game and, perhaps, pull off the upset.
