The third and final group stage match for England and Costa Rica takes place Tuesday in the 2014 World Cup. Currently the 2014 World Cup Odds for the match have England as the favorite to pick up the victory.

Hard to believe that England has already been eliminated from this 2014 World Cup. The English have been beaten by Italy and Uruguay in successive matches during their group matches, both by identical 2-1 scores. And yet, because they're in such a tough group, they have no chance to advance. Ironically enough, Costa Rica, the English' opponent in this matchup, have beaten both Italy and Uruguay to advance to the Round of 16. That being said, not much is going to be on the line in this matchup for England, except for pride. We saw with Spain on Monday that pride can be an important thing. But Costa Rica is a much better team than Australia. 

Costa Rica absolutely has something to play for — they are looking to grab the top overall spot in Group D, which would mark them against the second finishing team from Group C. This will be just the second time in World Cup history that Costa Rica will be playing in the Round of 16. These countries have never met on the pitch and Costa Rica has a chance to rise up and be the team that wins the group, even though they weren't supposed to even by close to advancing when the teams were announced.

Costa Rica coach Jorge Luis Pinto said he will be playing a few of his reserves in this matchup, giving them a chance to prove themselves and build the depth of the team moving forward. However, they don't want to come out and lay an egg in this matchup. They picked up impressive wins in each of their opening matches and have some momentum rolling at this point. Getting beat up in this match or not playing well could alter that momentum.

Wayne Rooney finally scored his first World Cup goal against Uruguay. The superstar will probably look to continue playing his style on the pitch in this one and could have a big game. We don't expect Joel Campbell to play a lot for Costa Rica, but he could log some minutes, it all depends on how Costa Rica wants to attack this game. He's been very impressive to this point.

The Costa Ricans don't want to get anyone injured, but England doesn't want to leave the World Cup with zero points, having lost three straight contests. We're expecting a draw in this one.
