The odds-on favorite to win the 2012 Belmont Stakes is Dullahan with current odds of 9-5. The horse will open from the fifth position at the Belmont. The solid odds make Dullahan the favorite to win the race after I'll Have Another had to drop out of contention due to a leg injury.

Dullahan has competed in nine races to date and has picked up two victories overall. He's also placed twice and had three shows on the circuit. The horse and jockey Javier Castellano have won just under $1,100,000 in their time together. Now that I'll Have Another will no longer be in the race, Dullahan is going to become one of the two or three favorites to claim the 2012 Belmont Stakes. He has been a strong horse all season. Dullahan has had five weeks to recoup from the Kentucky Derby, where he finished in third place.

Belmont Stakes Purse and Payouts: $1,000,000. For Three Year Olds. By subscription of $600 each, to accompany the nomination, if made on or before January 21, 2012, or $6,000, if made on or before March 24, 2012. $10,000 to pass the entry box and $10,000 additional to start. All entrants will be required to pay entry and starting fees; but no fees, supplemental or otherwise shall be added to the purse. The purse to be divided 60% to the winner, 20% to second, 11% to third, 6% to fourth and 3% to fifth. Colts and Geldings, 126 Lbs.; Fillies, 121 Lbs. The winning owner will be presented with the August Belmont Memorial Cup to be retained for one year as well as a trophy for permanent possession and trophies to the winning trainer and jockey.
