The UCLA college football express came to a halt last weekend, but it should fire up again today when the Bruins meet Pac-12 South rival Colorado. This evening's meeting between the Bruins and Buffaloes has a scheduled start time of 6:00pm ET at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado; it will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network. UCLA vs Colorado Odds are favoring the Bruins at -19.5 against the spread. The Over/Under in this conference clash is set at 60 points.
UCLA surprised almost everyone with its 3-0 start and it startled a few people last week when it lost 27-20 to Oregon State at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins, a 7.5 point favorite in its conference opener with the Beavers, gave up 25 first downs and 501 yards in the setback.
Oregon State’s defense also shut down the engine to UCLA’s offense, senior running back Jonathan Franklin. Franklin came into the game as the nation’s leading rusher with 541 yards, but he managed just 45 yards on 12 carries against the Beavers stout front seven.
Franklin should rediscover his legs this weekend, though. The 1-3 Buffaloes, who needed three fourth quarter touchdowns last Saturday to earn their first win of the season (defeated Washington State 35-34), have proven themselves a far less intimidating bunch on defense.
Colorado presently ranks 103rd in the FBS in total defense, yielding an average of 470 yards per game.
UCLA destroyed Colorado 45-6 when these two teams met at the Rose Bowl last season. The Bruins posted 553 total yards and Franklin rushed for 162 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries.
