College Football Thursday action heads to Salt Lake City as Pac-12 rivals USC and Utah square off at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Start time in tonight’s divisional tilt is set for 9:00pm ET; it will be broadcast live on ESPN. USC vs Utah Odds are favoring the visiting Trojans at -14 against the spread. Utah is drawing +450 moneyline odds ($100 wins $450) to win this evening’s contest outright and the game total is set at 47 points.

USC enters tonight’s game with a 3-1 record, but it has been a disappointment thus far. The Trojans, in all probability, saw their national title aspirations go down in flames when they lost at Stanford on September 15^th, but they were unimpressive prior to that unexpected setback as they failed to cover the spread in wins over Hawaii and Syracuse.

Still, USC has much to play for, including the Pac-12 South and Pac-12 titles, and, as most fans of the school no doubt remember, it was about this time last season the team started to hit on all cylinders.

After a dull 3-1 opening last year, the Trojans went on to win seven of their last eight games with their only loss coming in triple overtime against a top 10 Stanford team.

USC showed signs of snapping out of its funk in its last outing, beating Cal 27-9 to earn its first cover of the season. The Trojans, despite three turnovers, rolled up 488 total yards and averaged 7.4 yards per carry while limiting the Golden Bears to a 2.1 yards per carry average.

While no one expected a Pac-12 Championship out of Utah, the Utes have also been a disappointment, going 2-2 through their first four games with losses to Utah State and Arizona State.

The prospects of a 2-3 start are great as Utah’s punch-less offense (currently ranks 116^th and 96^th in yards and points per game respectively) figures to have its share of troubles finding the end zone against a talented USC defense.
