College Football TCU Horned Frogs at West Virginia Mountaineers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

TCU Horned Frogs Football: Trevone Boykin Directs Fabulous Comeback

The TCU Horned Frogs travel to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers in a battle of Top 25 teams in college football action Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ABC or ESPN2 depending on regional coverage. Currently the odds for the game have the Horned Frogs favored by nearly a touchdown in this one.

The weather might have something to do with this game, but it might be the only thing to slow down these high-flying offenses. Both TCU and West Virginia have been pouring on the points against opponents this season, and it might not slow down at all this week. TCU leads the country in scoring at 50.4 points per game. The Mountaineers are hanging half a hundred on opponents, but they do average 37 points per game.

Last week the Horned Frogs hung 82 on Texas Tech in an obvious attention-grabbing fashion. TCU does have a change to potentially make the college football playoff and still have to be a bit sore from blowing a three-touchdown lead to Baylor. That game could have set the Frogs back, but they've responded well by picking up a couple of lopsided conference wins. Next week could be the determining factor in the Big 12, however, as the Frogs will welcome in Kansas State. Provided TCU and the Wildcats each win this week, it will set up a matchup of Top 10 teams in Texas next week.

Trevone Boykin has been a monster at quarterback this season as the TCU offense has stockpiled yards, averaging better than 360 yards through the air per game.

West Virginia has rolled up four straight wins but does have three straight tough games, beginning with this one. Clint Trickett has guided the Mountaineers to their 6-2 record on the year and throwing the football to Kevin White certainly make it a bit easier. White could be the best receiver in football, averaging 14.5 yards per catch this year. The Mountaineers can run the football when needed, but the spread attack has them living through the air, scoring points and winning games.

TCU's defense won't be the best they've seen all season, but it is very good. The Frog defense could prove to be the difference in this one, which looks like it could be a higher-scoring affair, nasty weather aside. This should be one of the better matchups on Saturday.
