The Big Ten Leaders Division could, potentially, be on the line today when Wisconsin butts heads with its longtime rival Purdue. Start time in this divisional clash is scheduled for 12:00pm ET at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana; the game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. College Football Saturday Odds have the Boilermakers listed as a -2 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 50.5 points.

Wisconsin’s season has not gone according to plan, with the team losing two of its first six games; however, the Badgers are a viable pick to represent the Big Ten Leaders Division in the conference championship game due to Ohio State’s post-season probation.

The biggest hurdle in Wisconsin’s path to a potential Big Ten Championship is today’s opponent, Purdue. The Boilermakers are frequently disregarded, but, after a three year dip (posted 13 wins between 2008 and 2010), they appear ready to build on last season’s 7-6 bounce back campaign.

Purdue brings a 3-2 record into this contest, and, while it is coming off an ugly 44-13 home loss to Michigan, the team did look good in whipping lesser foes Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, and Marshall.

Despite its sluggish opening, Wisconsin is the play here, especially catching points. The Badgers lost 30-27 at Nebraska two weekends ago, but they have won three of their last four games. The Boilermakers offense has been explosive this season, but not against stiffer competition as they scored a total of 30 points against Notre Dame and Michigan. Wisconsin’s defense more closely resembles the Irish and Wolverines than the Colonels, Eagles, or Thundering Herd.

The Badgers have won and covered the last six in this series and they are 8-1-1 against the spread in the last 10 meetings between the two schools.

Wisconsin vs Purdue College Football Odds:

Wisconsin Badgers +2 (-110), Over 50.5 (-110), +110 (Moneyline)

Purdue Boilermakers -2 (-110), Under 50.5 (-110), -130 (Moneyline)
