College Football Saturday Michigan State Spartans vs Indiana Hoosiers

Saturday college football and we will see the Michigan State Spartans take on the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana. The game has a start time of 3:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas odds have the Spartans listed as 15.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 59.

Analysis: The Michigan State Spartans come in at 5-1 on the year, including 1-1 on the road. They are currently ranked 6th in the national polls and still have a good shot at making it to the NCAA Playoffs at the end of the year. The Spartans are 4-1 ATS the last 5 in this series and are 12-3-1 ATS their last 16 games on the road overall. The Spartans are led by a nice trio of player on offense. QB Connor Cook has thrown for 1309 yards with 13 TDs and 4 INTs, while Jeremy Langford has run for 555 yards and 4 TDs and Tony Lippett has caught 32 passes for 668 yards and 8 TDs. The have combined to lead a Spartan offense that ranks 18th overall, 53rd in passing, 18th rushing and 4th in scoring (45.5 ppg). The defense has been solid as always for Sparty, as they come in ranked 12th overall, 55th vs the pass, 5th vs the run and 45th in points allowed (22.3 ppg).

The Indiana Hoosiers come in at 3-3 on the year, with their biggest win of the year being at Missouri a few weeks back. Last week they took on Iowa on the road and took a loss by a 45-29 score. The Hoosiers are 2-5 ATS the last 7 games in this series, but are also 8-2 ATS at home vs a team with a winning road record. RB Tevin Coleman is the star of this offense and he comes in with 1060 yards rushing, 134 yards receiving and 11 TDs (all on the ground) for the year. He leads an offense that has been very good this year, ranking that ranks 18th in total yards, 89th in passing, 9th in rushing and 55th in scoring (33 ppg). The defense has been a problem for this team as they rank 80th in yards allowed, 113th vs the pass, 43rd vs the run and 85th in points allowed (28.6 ppg).

Pick: Going with the over in this one. The Hoosiers have been able to score plenty of points this year, but they can’t stop anyone either as they have allowed 31.3 ppg so far. Now they face a MSU team that as opened up their offense and has averaged 45.5 ppg on the year. The Michigan State defense has been tough this year but they just allowed Purdue 31 points and this Indiana offense has averaged 32.3 ppg overall and 3.7 ppg at home. This game should be fun.
